About Amanda

Amanda Righetti (born April 4th 1983) was a Best Actress award winner at the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival for the Short Film category in 2008. In her role she highlights her sensual energy and feminine power. Amanda has been ranked in the top 100 Sexiest Women in the world in 2005 and 2006 by FHM Magazine. Amanda is best known for her most recent role in Michael Bay’s remake of “Friday the 13” (2009) and her Television role on the Mentalist (CBS). 
 


Early Life

Born in St. George, Utah and raised around Las Vegas, Nevada, accomplished screen actress Amanda Righetti is no stranger to bright lights. She grew up fast, disciplined and with a regal wisdom beginning with a modeling career at the age of 14. She was a hard worker even early on, often working several jobs at once. Amanda expressed her passion in many different senses and with contrast, which helped guide her career, in front and behind the camera. At a young age she set out to Hollywood, CA where she soon landed a role in “No Place Like Home” A Keyser/ Lippman television pilot for FOX.
 


Acting Career

The break through role for Amanda was with FOX where she first became hugely popular in her guest role as “Hailey” a femme fatale character on the FOX hit show “The O.C.” Amanda’s other television appearances include “CSI,” “Reunion,” “K Ville,” and HBO’s “Entourage.”
 In the 2007 DVD release of “Return to House on Haunted Hill” directed by Victor Garcia, Amanda played the female lead also starring Cerina Vincent, Erik Palladino, and Tom Riley. Amanda played opposite Seann William Scott in the 2008 release of “Role Models”. 

In early April of 2008 Amanda was cast in the leading role of Michael Bay’s remake of “Friday the 13th,” released on February 13th 2009. In this role Amanda plays “Whitney Miller” a responsible and strong twenty something that goes on a camping trip with her boyfriend and a few friends to get away from the care taking duties of her cancer ridden mother for a weekend. On its opening day, Friday the 13th grossed $19,293,446. From February 14 - 16, Friday the 13th made an additional $24,292,003 to total its 4-day President's Day weekend with $43,585,449. By the end of the 3-day weekend it was already the second highest grossing Friday film in the series, and was the best 3-day weekend opening for any horror film.

This was complimented Amanda’s role in “The Mentalist,” which won a People’s Choice Award for Best New Television Drama (2008), where Amanda plays a rookie detective on to the CBS show. “The Mentalist” was picked up by CBS for its second season and was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Simon Baker) 2009.


Personal Life

Amanda married Jordan Alan on Oahu, Hawaii in April of 2006 with a small wedding including family and friends. As part of the wedding Amanda was featured in “In Style Wedding Magazine” showing off a little tropical paradise. Amanda and Jordan now live in Hollywood, CA.
